Hume, VA – On September 7th, 3:00pm to 6:00pm, we invite you to the Ribbon Cutting – Open House event at the Inn at Vineyards Crossing. Join co-owners, Philip Carter Strother and Stephen Mills, and General Manager Josh Haugh, as we celebrate the launch of this historic Inn located in the Village of Hume. The Inn will provide luxury accommodations, featuring five unique en suite rooms including king sized beds, baths, and premier white linens, white-glove turndown service, an English garden, pool, cottage, and an historic Tavern built in 1787.
Located in the Village of Hume, Fauquier County, just over a mile from Philip Carter Winery, the Inn at Vineyards Crossing invites you to abandon your stress and relish the civility and romance of this exquisite Hume bed and breakfast. According to Strother, who is the owner of Philip Carter Winery, the vision is to capitalize on VIRGINIA which has recently been named “One of Ten Best Travel Destinations in the World for Wine” by Wine Enthusiast magazine last year. “The Inn will offer a luxury experience to guests who are looking to immerse themselves in the romance and beauty of Virginia wine country.”
The original portion of the Inn dates back to the pre-stage coach days, circa 1787. It sits on the northwest corner of the Village and is a cream stucco frame building (old log tavern) with a center stone chimney, which was known as Barbee’s tavern. The tavern was in operation during colonial and Civil War times and had a thriving business. The tavern has wide pine flooring, exposed American Chestnut interior logs, and 3 stone fireplaces.
Today, the Inn will open as an intimate and romantic retreat in Virginia Wine & Hunt Country. While influenced by American Classic and English design, each room has a unique theme that will make for a welcoming experience during each returning stay. Guests are encouraged to unwind by the pool, relax in the English garden, explore the Village or take one of The Inn’s many Excursion Experiences:
